一杯咖啡的濃郁度 The Full-bodiness of a Cup of Coffee

一杯咖啡的濃郁度 -在大賣場看到的咖啡包裝袋上,常看得到濃郁度一詞,但這其實不太恰當,這是廠商想說這包咖啡的烘焙度、泡出的咖啡苦味有多強。「濃郁度」一詞用於描述咖啡風味時,應該是指這杯咖啡含有較高比例的咖啡可溶出物質,有各種風味、不是只有烘焙味。

The full-bodiness of a cup of coffee - On the coffee packaging bags we often see in the supermarkets, the word full-bodiness is often used, but this is actually not appropriate. That’s how the manufacturers want to say the roast degree and how strong the coffee is. When the word “full-bodiness” is used to describe the flavor of coffee, it should mean that this cup of coffee contains a higher proportion of coffee soluble substances, and there are various flavors, not just roasted flavor.

 

增加一杯咖啡的濃郁度基本有二種方式。其一,用較多的粉沖泡、改變粉水比;其二,增加萃取率,像是增加時間、增加水溫等。但並不是愈濃愈好喝,太濃會覺得礙口、太淡會覺得無味,試著找出自己最適合的濃郁度吧。

There are basically two ways to increase the full-bodiness of a cup of coffee. First, use more powder for brewing and change the powder to water ratio; second, increase the extraction rate, such as increasing the time and increasing the water temperature. But it doesn’t mean that the stronger the drink, the better it tastes. If it is too strong, it will be harsh. If it is too light, it will feel tasteless. Try to find the most suitable full-bodiness for you.
