Geisha coffee was listed as one of the "Top 10 Most Expensive Coffees in the World" by Forbes in 2006. Today, it is not just one of the most expensive coffees—it is the most expensive. In July, Panama’s Hacienda La Esmeralda Geisha coffee set a record price of $601 per pound at auction. However, on September 13, 2017, Ninety Plus Geisha coffee surpassed this, fetching an astonishing $50,001.5 per kilogram at auction—approximately NT$150,000 per kilogram!
藝妓，或稱之為瑰夏或藝伎，名子來自於衣索匹亞的藝妓山(Geisha Mountain)，其發音與日本藝妓相同，因此華人稱之為藝妓咖啡。 近年來在國際大賽上，諸多咖啡大賽，選手們都以藝妓咖啡拿下冠軍，像是今年世界咖啡沖煮大賽冠軍，也是由王策以90+藝妓為自選豆，最終拿下年度冠軍。
Geisha, also known as Gesha, derives its name from Ethiopia’s Geisha Mountain. Due to its phonetic similarity to "Geisha" in Japanese, it is commonly referred to as Geisha coffee in Chinese. In recent years, Geisha coffee has dominated international coffee competitions, with many barista champions using Geisha beans. For example, in the World Brewers Cup, Chad Wang won the championship using Ninety Plus Geisha.

“The auction price of Panama Geisha coffee keeps reaching new heights. Just this July, the sun-dried Geisha green beans from Finca Esmeralda set an astonishing record at the BOP (Best of Panama) auction, fetching $601 per pound—an eye-watering price. However, on September 13, it was unexpectedly dethroned by Ninety Plus (90+) with its sun-dried Geisha Lot 227-B, which sold for $50,001.5 per kilogram. This jaw-dropping price means that each kilogram of green beans costs at least 150,000 TWD.”
