為什麼一喝咖啡就嗯嗯!想上廁所 Why Does Drinking Coffee Make You Feel Like to Poop?

不知道您有沒有這樣的經驗,早晨喝咖啡後,腸胃會感到一股攪動,為什麼呢?早已有許多研究者,也跟大家有著一樣的好奇,針對咖啡對腸道的影響進行研究,發現咖啡有刺激腸胃蠕動,產生便意的作用,不過特別的是,早上飲用的效果較為顯著,其他時間喝則效果不大(*1)。

I don't know if you have such experience or not, your stomach will feel agitated after drinking coffee in the morning. Why is like that? Many researchers have the same curiosity as everyone. They have studied the effects of coffee on the intestines and found that coffee can stimulate gastrointestinal motility and produce bowel movements, but in particular, the effect of drinking coffee in the morning is more significant, and other times drinking coffee has little effect (*1).


胃腸病學專家Rao S.S.博士等人在咖啡對腸道影響的實驗中發現,咖啡可增進結腸蠕動。且喝咖啡的蠕動強度比喝熱水多60%(*2)。喝完咖啡四分鐘,蠕動的幅度就會開始增加了呢(*3)。你可能會覺得這一定是咖啡因造成的,但卻不是,茶、或含咖啡因的其他飲料,卻沒有同樣的效果。科學家S.R. Brown發現,原來是咖啡裡一種「未知成分」促進胃部「胃泌素(gastrin)」分泌,加速乙狀結腸蠕動導致,會有這樣的功效,也不是每個人都有,經統計,每三個人中大約就有一個人(*4)。

Gastroenterologist Dr. Rao S.S. and others found out that coffee can improve colonic peristalsis, in the experiment of the effect of coffee on the intestinal tract. And the peristaltic strength of drinking coffee is 60% higher than drinking hot water (*2). Four minutes after drinking coffee, the peristalsis will start to increase (*3). You might think it must be caused by caffeine, but it’s not. Tea or other beverages that contain caffeine don't have the same effect. Scientist S.R. Brown found that it turns out that an "unknown ingredient" in coffee promotes the secretion of "gastrin" in the stomach and accelerates the peristalsis of the sigmoid colon. It has such an effect, and not everyone has it. According to statistics, one in three persons among individuals has it (*4).

喝咖啡好處還真多,在品味咖啡各種香氣的同時,為我們帶來美好的一天。
