Uganda, a landlocked country in East Africa, is a major producer of organic coffee, similar to how Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica coffee. Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda boasts lush forests, lakes, wetlands, and abundant river resources. Coffee is Uganda's largest agricultural export, contributing significantly to its foreign exchange earnings. Approximately 500,000 coffee farms engage in coffee-related agriculture, representing 25% of the total population. The majority of coffee trees are the robust Robusta variety, accounting for about 94%, with only 6% being the traditional Arabica variety. These rare Arabica beans, grown in tropical rainforests, are mostly exported to countries around the world.
