Arabica Coffee Variety Bourbon - It is one of the varieties closest to the original species, discovered on Reunion Island (formerly known as Bourbon) next to Madagascar. The Bourbon variety has its own unique characteristics, offering a high-quality taste similar to Typica, with a red wine-like acidity and a sweet aftertaste. Typica and Bourbon can be distinguished by the leaves and bean appearance of the coffee tree. Bourbon leaves are wider, the solid coffee cherries are smaller and more densely formed, resulting in a bean appearance that is smaller and rounder compared to Typica. In Kenya and Tanzania, artificial hybridization using Bourbon offspring has led to the development of new artificial varieties, 'SL28' and 'SL34', which are renowned for their excellent flavor profiles. Although Bourbon has a higher yield than Typica, its harvest cycle is still two years, making it a relatively low-yielding variety.

Justin Coffee carefully selects various Arabica subspecies, including: Geisha/Gesha, Pacamara, Heirloom, Bourbon, Typica, Caturra, Pacas, SL28, SL34, Tim Tim, Catuai, and other world-renowned specialty coffees. We print the bean variety information on the packaging bags, allowing you to understand the flavor of the bean you are tasting while enjoying your coffee. Although the flavor will vary depending on many factors, at least we can get a glimpse of the vast world of bean varieties.
