沃卡合作社 Worka Cooperative
沃卡合作社 (Worka Cooperative)位於耶加雪菲(Yirgacheffe)產區內一個偏遠的地區,早期該區域都以沃卡為名來出口當地的咖啡生豆;這幾年,各自獨立出來,例如:哈洛巴利提合作社、果丁丁合作社等。
The Worka Cooperative, located in a remote area within the Yirgacheffe region, was originally known as "Worka," and the local coffee beans were exported under that name. In recent years, various cooperatives have emerged as independent entities, such as Halo Bariti Coop and Gedeb Worka Banko Gutity Gargari Cooperative.
因咖啡種植過程中未使用任何化學肥料與殺蟲藥劑,沃卡合作社還取得了歐盟認可的Skal有機咖啡認證,衣索比亞咖啡栽植半數以上屬於Garden Coffee庭院咖啡型態,即咖啡小農在自家後院小面積的栽植咖啡豆,以咖啡為主要的經濟作物,同時種植芭蕉等雜糧作物作為遮蔭與食糧,每個農戶不僅在糧食上自給自足,同時也藉生產咖啡豆換取其它生活用品;這樣的生產方式加上當地的原生樹種咖啡園,讓每一批咖啡豆的風味都具有相當的獨特性,本批耶加雪啡-沃卡合作社採傳統的日曬處理法生產,有著典型的日曬耶加雪啡調性。
Due to the coffee cultivation process that abstains from using any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, the Worka Cooperative has obtained the Skal organic coffee certification recognized by the European Union. Over half of Ethiopia's coffee is of the "Garden Coffee" type, where small-scale coffee farmers grow coffee beans in their backyard as the primary cash crop, while also cultivating crops like bananas for shade and food. Each farmer is not only self-sufficient in food but also exchanges coffee beans for other daily necessities. This production method, combined with the native tree species coffee gardens, imparts a significant uniqueness to the flavor of each batch of coffee beans. In this batch of Yirgacheffe - Worka Cooperative, the traditional natural process is used, resulting in a typical natural Yirgacheffe flavor profile.
